Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-04-17

Welcome to smoldb. These terms govern your use of our hosted database service. By using smoldb, you agree to these terms.

1. The service

smoldb provides a project-scoped SQLite database, file storage, and an HTTP API per project. The service runs at smoldb.com and is operated as a sole-proprietor side project.

2. Your account

You need a Google account to sign in. You must be at least 13 years old. You are responsible for anything that happens under your account, including keeping your API keys private. If you think a key has leaked, regenerate it immediately from the Connect panel.

3. Acceptable use

You may not:

  • Upload content that is illegal, infringes intellectual property, or contains malware
  • Use the service to send spam, phish, or attack others
  • Probe, scan, or attempt to compromise the service
  • Resell the service or run it as a multi-tenant backend for your own customers without written permission

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules without prior notice.

4. Fees and billing

The Free plan is free. Pro is $4 per month, billed monthly through Stripe. Fees are non-refundable except at our discretion. You can cancel anytime from the billing page; access continues until the end of the current billing period.

5. Your data

You own the content you put into smoldb. You grant us a limited license to store, serve, and back up that content only to operate the service. We do not sell your data. We do not use your content to train AI models.

6. Service availability

We provide the service on an "as is" basis. We do not guarantee any specific uptime or performance level. We may change, deprecate, or shut down features with reasonable notice.

7. Termination

You can delete projects anytime from the dashboard. For full account deletion or any other request, submit a note via the report page. We may terminate accounts that violate these terms.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $100. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages.

9. Changes

We may update these terms. We will post the new version at /terms and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes means you accept them.

10. Contact

Submit any question, complaint, or request via the report page.
